TITANARG® is another proof of TITAN’s innovativeness. The TIG-welded joint is the strongest and securest sealing available for steel strap. None of the other sealing methods reaches the quality and the strength on such a consistent level as TITANARG®.
The sealing is performed by the TIG-welding method (Tungsten Inert Gas).
An electric current originating from a tungsten electrode and carried by an electric arc in an inert gas surrounding runs through the two ends of the steel strap to a counter plate. The electric current melts the two ends of the steel strap in such a way that they are completely “melted through and together” resulting, after a short cooldown, in the strongest and securest joint available.
With TITANARG® the tungsten electrode is not in contact with the steel strap, does not melt at all and therefore the wear of TITANARG® is practically zero. This enables and ensures a very consistent high quality of the weldings, which is also permanently monitored electronically.
TITANARG® does not affect the package, neither thermally nor mechanically. The heat of the welding process stays within the welding area of the strapping head and the weldings themselves are cold and nicely flat.
TITANARG® is available with up to three weldings per joint and up to 95% joint efficiency for the fulfilment of even highest requirements by our valued customers.
